Ihre Aufgaben
The project will address a specific and unusual nuclear import pathway.
You will use different assay systems to analyze nucleocytoplasmic transport.
You will perform fluorescence microscopy of fixed cells and living cells.
You will express proteins in bacteria for interaction studies.
You will collaborate with partners in the US who perform structural analyses on our proteins of interest.
Ihre Qualifikationen
Master in life science (e.g.biochemistry, biology, molecular medicine)
Background in molecular biology techniques, protein biochemistry, microscopy and/or cell culture
High intrinsic motivation
English as work language

Einleitungstext
The lab of Ralph Kehlenbach is seeking a motivated PhD-student. We are an international and diverse team of scientists working on the nucleocytoplasmic transport machinery and proteins of the inner nuclear membrane. This is a collaborative project, together with structural biologists in the US, where we will address a very specific nuclear import pathway. The position (salary according to TV-L) is funded for (initially) three years.
