- and laser-driven plasma accelerators with a focus on programmatic R&D toward high-average-power, stable beams and developing frontier technologies to deliver on the potential of plasma-based particle acceleration. As part of this effort, we are developing a plasma energy-booster module for our flagship FEL facility, the European X-FEL. In this context, we are looking for postdoctoral researchers to join the team.
- About your role:
- Solution of complex problems in the field of beam-driven plasma accelerators
- Integration of a plasma-booster module into the existing accelerator beamline, both, in terms of hardware and operation concept
- Experimental plasma-accelerator tests in the FLASHForward beamline
- Simulation studies of the plasma module

- About you:
- PhD in physics or equivalent, with a focus on plasmas, plasma wakefield accelerators, and accelerator physics
- Experience with at least one of: particle in cell simulations, plasma sources and metrology, or particle accelerators and associated diagnostics
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to drive central aspects of your work forward independently and as part of a team
