TE Connectivity's Purchasing Teams are responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment and services, gather quotations, examine bids, and award contracts. They perform cost analysis and volume planning for commodities, evaluate vendor reliability and develop new supply sources where required. They coordinate purchasing activities with the manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels and monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. They also look for and recommend cost saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria as well as develop specifications for new contract orders. **Tasks and Responsibilities**: - Definition and execution of commodity strategy for Stamped & Formed & Plating commodity for Industrial and commercial transportation (ICT) in EMEA. - Independent management and responsibility for the performance of your own supplier portfolio in terms of quality, costs, delivery reliability and service. - Preparation and implementation of negotiations within your own supplier and product portfolio. - Independent negotiation of contracts. - Implementation of cost reduction potentials in the entire value chain and optimization of cost drivers in close cooperation with the Engineering, Quality, Finance and Sales departments. - Proactive and independent capacity management with strategic suppliers. - Identification and development of new competitive suppliers in close cooperation with Global Corporate Procurement Team. - Data maintenance in SAP-MM for your own supplier and product portfolio. - Independent and proactive analysis and optimization of own KPIs. **What your background should look like**: - Bachelors Degree in engineering or industrial engineering, economics. - Ideally 5+ years of international purchasing experience. - Background in Automotive / Truck industry (would be an advantage). - Proven successful purchasing and negotiation experience with suppliers in Western Europe, CEE and Asia. - Strong communication skills in both German and English. - Knowledge of metal /stamping products and materials would be beneficial (not essential), - Experience with "state of the art" purchasing methods. - Experience and knowledge in the implementation of lean projects is desirable. - Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities. - Ability to work successfully in an international and multinational team. - Good knowledge of MS Office and SAP-MM. - Willingness to travel - Europe-wide. **Competencies**: - Values: Integrity, Accountability, Teamwork, Innovation**ABOUT TE CONNECTIVITY** **WHAT TE CONNECTIVITY OFFERS**: We are pleased to offer you an exciting total package that can also be flexibly adapted to changing life situations - the well-being of our employees is our top priority - Competitive Salary Package - Performance-Based Bonus Plans - Health and Wellness Incentives - Employee Stock Purchase Program - Community Outreach Programs / Charity Events - Employee Resource Group Across our global sites and business units, we put together packages of benefits that are either supported by TE itself or provided by external service providers.
