By providing advanced chemistry-based solutions our 70,000 employees enable industry transformation, develop technological advancements, and create more fruitful lives for the global population. **About the Role** The Associate General Counsel will provide legal support for the affiliates of Mitsubishi Chemical Group EMEA in the areas of corporate, company secretarial, labour, disputes, contracts, commercial, antitrust, data privacy, export control, M&A, business transactions, distribution, product regulatory, projects and all other day to day legal topics. You will collaborate with the relevant business to ensure the implementation of the EMEA legal strategy polices, ensuring strong governance and the minimization of legal risks. The position could be located in Düsseldorf or other locations in Germany. **Your Responsibilities** - Serving as a proactive advisor on a range of legal matters across the EMEA region and supporting colleagues worldwide as part of the global legal team - Responsibility for providing corporate and company secretarial support to all affiliated entities across the EMEA region - Evaluating pre-litigation issues to minimize risks; overseeing litigation; advising management on strategy and providing litigation reports - Drafting, structuring and reviewing commercial agreements - Playing a key role in the support of corporate transactions including acquisitions, divestments, restructuring and strategic transactions - Working closely with colleagues globally including, HR, Finance and Internal Audit - Instilling confidence and fostering an atmosphere of trust and respect among colleagues **Your Skills and Experience** - Qualified lawyer or equivalent (Germany or England) - Multi-national diversified company exposure required and experience working in chemical, materials or manufacturing environment desirable - Role would suit a lawyer with a background in corporate/company law, M&A or general commercial - Experience as an in-house lawyer dealing with labour law matters (as part of a wider portfolio of responsibilities) and management of external labour lawyers desirable - A strong commercial, business focused, approach required - Ability to act autonomously, be proactive and flexible in responding to changing demands - Skills in providing training to the business on legal matters and related content - Compliance understanding and exposure to commercial matters that require compliance knowledge (e.g. antitrust, export control) - Fluency in English and German is required, any other language is desirable **What you can expect** Our corporate culture is based on the values of integrity, respect, bravery, collaboration, and persistence, we call it "Our Way".
