**Duties**:
The purpose of this position is to perform a wide variety of simple cooking tasks.The primary duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

- Performs a full range of cooking tasks: preparing and cooking items that required little/no processing, prepares hot cereals, broils meats, cooks soups, sauces and gravies, makes cold sandwich filling.
- Prepares other items such as: frozen hash browns, fish fillets and chicken nuggets.
- Prepares food by chopping, peeling, paring, grinding, slicing, dicing, pureeing and breading; weights and measures ingredients and portions food as appropriate.
- May be required to operate a cash register and collect money, make change and serve bottled/canned beer.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

**Conditions of Employment**:

- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position requires the incumbent to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical.
- This position requires the incumbent to complete assigned training, to include Food Handlers certification, within specified time from date hire or assignment to position.

**Qualifications**:

- **The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is US Citizens and legal US residents in Germany. - **Qualifying Experience**:

- Must have experience in food preparation and presentation gained in a grill, snack bar, restaurant, club or similar food activity.
- Must have knowledge of cleaning and operating food service equipment.
- Must have experience in seasoning food and cooking to completion.

**Education**:
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.

**Additional information**:

- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- All Federal NAF employees are required by PL 104-134 to have salary payments made by electronic funds transfer/direct deposit.
- Probationary period may be required.
