Overview:
The Senior Systems Engineer Support (Network) is responsible for the health and maintenance of a large, complex networking infrastructure. This includes providing DNS administration and management, networking administration and operational support. The engineer will provide comprehensive network administration, security enhancements and remediation, and troubleshooting of network devices such as routers, switches, and load balancers.
**Responsibilities**:
**Major Job Activities**:
- Create and maintain system documentation for domain technologies, including installation, configuration, and appropriate troubleshooting steps
- Improve existing processes through solutions to recurring problems and enhancements to existing solutions or documentation.
- Ability to troubleshoot network infrastructure equipment
- Ability to assess networking requirements and provide solutions
- Perform data entry work on the Domain Name Services (DNS) portal adding, deleting, and updating object records for IP management.
- DHCP management and configuration
- Deploy and maintain network hardware, peripherals, services, and settings in accordance with industry standards and project / operational requirements.
**Material & Equipment Directly Used**:
Basic office equipment.
**Working Environment**:
- Normal office environment.
- May require support during periods of non-traditional working hours including nights or weekends.
**Physical Activities**:
Must be able to lift / push / pull 40 lbs. unassisted.
Qualifications:
**Education / Certifications**:
- U.S. Citizen
- Active Secret level Security Clearance
- ** Education**: Bachelor of Science / Arts Degree in Engineering, or Computer Science, or Science, or Business Administration, or Mathematics, plus three (3) years of specialized experience; OR Associate’s Degree plus seven (7) years of specialized experience; OR a major certification plus seven (7) years of specialized experience; OR 11 years of specialized experience.
- ** IAT III Certification** (one of the following): CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, CCSP
- ** Specialized Certification** (one of the following and cannot be the same as baseline certification): Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP Security) or Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist
**Experience**:
**The following experience may be concurrent**:Four (4) years of experience maintaining and developing TCP / IP networks (on Ethernet, ATM / SONET and/or wide area transports); three (3) years must be in direct experience with U.S. military command and control or commercial LAN / WAN communication systems.
