The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a Chemist as Head of Product Safety (*) at the Burgkirchen an der Alz site (Chemiepark Gendorf) for the EHS division, you will have the opportunity to use your knowledge in a targeted manner to advance our joint success. In doing so, your area of responsibility includes: - _ You ensure compliance with 3M company policies, legal requirements, and 3M customer requirements in terms of product safety (environment, health, safety and regulatory compliance)._ - _ Assessment and management of product safety risks related to human health and the environment._ - _ You document environmental, health, safety and regulatory activities for existing and new products and technologies in the Corporate Life Cycle Management database._ - _ You act as needed with customers and suppliers in accordance with life cycle management activities._ - _ You ensure worldwide compliance with material regulations for assigned product lines, maintain compliance files according to the requirements of the department, the company and/or the external guidelines for your product lines._ - _ You support product development teams in minimizing environmental, health, safety, and regulatory risks and in identifying sustainability opportunities._ - _ You support the business by responding to social trends and customer concerns regarding product transparency._ - _ You support 3M's sustainability initiatives._ - _ You communicate with management, the business unit and the company as well as the production and supervisory authorities._ - _ Sustainability requirements are identified, monitored, and influenced by you by actively accompanying significant regulatory developments._ Your Skills and Expertise - _ Successfully completed studies in chemistry, plastics chemistry, chemical engineering or comparable course of study; studying law or experience would be an advantage._ - _ High degree of initiative as well as independent and structured way of working distinguishes you._ - _ Very good knowledge of English, very good knowledge of German._ Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include - _ Ability to work in a team and good communication skills are among your strengths_ - _ Several years of professional experience, ideally in the chemical industry in the field of product safety (Chemical Compliance, Regulatory Affairs)._ - _ Very good knowledge of hazardous substances law and chemicals law (GHS, GefStoffV, TRGS), regulatory affairs as well as materials and chemicals legislation (REACH, EU POPs, TSCA and related areas of law)._ Supporting Your Well-being Promoting personal responsibility and learning from mistakes is the basis of our corporate culture.
