**“Multi-species Balance Laws”**

(Head: Dr. K. Hopf) **starting as soon as possible**.

**Field of work**: Mathematical analysis and **nonlinear partial differential equations**.

The successful applicant will be expected to perform research in the above-mentioned field, with a focus on reaction-cross-diffusion systems or two-phase flow. The research will either be centered around wellposedness and qualitative behavior, or the derivation of singular limits and effective equations.

**We are looking for**:

- A motivated, outstanding student with a master’s degree in mathematics and a strong background in analysis and partial differential equations. Prior knowledge in nonlinear parabolic and/or hyperbolic equations is desirable.
- The MSc degree should be completed or close to completion.
