**Social Work Academic Program (SWAP) Coordinator**

**UMGC Europe**

**Location: Kaiserslautern, Germany**

**Overseas Regular Staff, Full-Time 100% FTE, Grade 004**

The Social Work Academic Program (SWAP) Coordinator reports to the UMGC Europe Social Work (SOWK) Program and Academic Associate Director to help administer the SOWK partnership program with Salisbury University (SU). The Social Work Academic Program (SWAP) Coordinator is a UMGC Europe employee responsible for acting as a program “navigator” between UMGC and SU, working collaboratively with staff, faculty and students at both institutions to facilitate the admissions, registration and enrollment process. This individual also works collaboratively with the SOWK program field manager, academic advisors, program coordinators and relevant colleagues and leaders at both SU and UMGC Europe.

**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**:

- Provide academic and administrative support services in the areas of admissions, degree planning, enrollments, military portals, grades, student records, financial aid and veterans benefits to prospects and students while ensuring quality assurance standards are met by being available, knowledgeable, courteous, and responsive.
- Prepare degree planning worksheets based upon students' specific degree goals and provide general advising and program planning, coordinating closely with the UMGC and SU degree audit teams.
- Ensure compliance with the social work program by following both UMGC and SU's policies and procedures.
- Synthesize detailed information from various sources to relay academic policies and procedures in simple and accurate terms to students and education center personnel.
- Establish relationships and effectively communicate with host military Education Services Officer (or equivalent), respective education center staff, and local commands.
- Organize key activities and represent UMGC at official functions (e.g., local education fairs, open houses, semester start-ups, student appreciation days, local graduations).
- Distribute marketing, advertising, and mass media materials at assigned locations when permissible.
- Track class enrollments and student interest, as well as local degree progression, to provide input on scheduling.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:

- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or foreign degree equivalent with a preferred major in social sciences.
- At least one (1) year of experience in higher education administration or other demonstrably similar people management or service function.

**PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:

- Previous experience with student recruitment and/or outreach.
