The **Senior Solution Architect** reports to the Head of Section (IT Business Solutions, Investment Management). This position is responsible for leading the architecture of solutions, ensuring consistency with Munich Re technology standards and patterns, and specified requirements agreed with the internal customers. The developed solutions guided by this function are expected to meet the financial targets for the building and operating costs of the solution and are developed in a fast-paced, global and regulated financial services environment.

Your job
- Assuming responsibility for implementing technology solutions and mapping the business requirements to systems/technical requirements in order to ensure alignment with the enterprise architecture plan
- Providing accountability for detailed component specifications and translating these into detailed designs for implementation
- Supporting the strategic direction of technology investments to assist in the development of the enterprise architecture and maximise the return on technology investment
- Assuming responsibility for adherence to appropriate standards (performance, monitoring capability, audit acceptability and secure environment) and guiding solutions through the appointed Architecture Review Board, as required
- Assuming responsibility for achieving balance between functional, service quality and systems management requirements
- Communicating architecture objectives to business and consulting during the development of product requirements

**Profile**:

- In-depth experience in the delivery of IT solutions for investment and asset management businesses, including but not limited to business activities such as portfolio management, trade order management, investment controlling, risk and performance measurement/attribution
- Experience in designing and developing solutions, including data management and analytics, portfolio model development and maintenance, as well as solutions architected for high performance and availability, including telemetry
- Track record of delivering results in a fast-paced, global and regulated business environment
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following technical domains: cloud-native development initiatives or cloud migrations, cloud security and/or DevSecOps, privacy and data protection, development or maturity of IT platforms and standards (e.g. shared services), for example technologies such as Appian, Informatica or SAP
- Strong ability to engage in solution strategy, including a demonstrated ability to communicate solutions and their benefits to stakeholders in IT and business units
- Maturity, relationship management and communication skills for exerting influence towards standardisation and a willingness to challenge the status quo when there is clear business benefit
- Organisational change management capabilities promoting collaboration, accountability and overcoming silos
- Proven track record in working in a global environment with numerous stakeholders and varying regulatory, policy or compliance requirements and a willingness to learn and understand the business needs and processes
- Business acumen to find solutions focusing on costs and benefits
- Thought leadership and ability to monitor market trends and drive creative thinking on future technology capabilities, which will help increase the business value of Munich RE
- University degree, preferably in computer engineering / IT or a similar qualification
- Fluent spoken and written English and German
