Technical Accountant Life

The Technical Accountant Life conducts billing related payment transactions and mitigates damages by conducting embargo checks and auditing them to the damage guidelines/ contract conditions.

**Key duties and responsibilities**
- Register and assess invoices for proportional and non-proportional Life and Health reinsurance contracts
- Conduct dunning process
- Conduct the billing related payment transactions
- Conduct embargo checks of damages for certain regions
- Audit damages analogous to the damage guidelines/ contract conditions
- Investigate reserves and additional reserves and enter data into systems
- Support the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS (17), French GAAP and Local GAAP
- Support estimation and validation of the contract results in the accounting system (e.g. Omega) according to IFRS (17), French GAAP and Local GAAP
- Conduct relevant correspondence
- Creation and management of non-proprtional and health insurance contracts in the administration system

**Required experience & competencies**

**Experience**:

- Multi-year specific work experience in (re)insurance with a focus on testing and detection of technical accounting and monitoring related to the settlement payments
- Advanced knowledge of accounting HGB and IFRS
- Advanced IT skills of standard software (MS Office), and very good knowledge of the SCOR IT infrastructure

**Personal Competences**:

- Advanced analytical skills (e. g. knowledge of balance sheet, profit and loss statement) good understanding of numbers
- Advanced communication skills (in German and English)
- Personal competences according to company values

**Required Education**
- Completed commercial apprenticeship, ideally as an insurance clerk or banker
- or equivalency from a national or international recognized organization, e. g. accounting specific training with reinsurance skills
