**The Role**:
**What’s the role?**

Within Shells Construction and Road sector (C&R), Shell Bitumen is a global leader in selling Bitumen and a major player in Europe, with a 100+ years legacy. We run a highly integrated business with the full end-to-end value chain in house. The bitumen supply planner is a key factor in this value chain, which includes the manufacturing and purchasing of bitumen, the different modes of primary transport (barges, ships, trains, trucks), storage, make buy blend decisions and delivery to clients.

Bitumen is an oil product that is not combusted and is recognized as a key enabler for Shell to meet its energy transition targets.

Our European network includes equity production at the energy & chemical parks Rotterdam (Pernis, NL) and Rhineland (GER), our stakes in bitumen JV refinery in Eastham (UK) and in JV refineries PCK (GER), MiRO (GER).

Accountabilities:

- Drive and own the Scheduling/Planning/optimization of the short term Monthly(M)/M+1 integrated bitumen supply chain in the EU region. You take the long-term M+1/2/3 supply plan and turns it into action
- You like the daily actions and challenges that come within a dynamic supply chain environment, and you adapt/ re-optimize the plan where necessary.
- You take pride in aligning and optimizing our refineries, depots, ships, barges with stakeholders like refinery schedulers, bitumen schedulers, operations, commercial.
- You connect frequently with key stakeholders like business managers, key account managers,, bitumen traders, technology.
- You are a key stakeholder in the regional supply/demand execution, driving corrective actions, optimization decisions across the interfaces, making E2E economic trade-offs visible and bring escalation items forward on an asset and regional basis. You have a keen eye to identify potential improvements across the region.
- You understand the end-to-end value chain drivers and economics, and this allows you to do the right thing for Shell in a prompt and agile manner while showing leadership and resilience in case things do not run to plan.

You have a genuine interest in the wider value chain with curiosity of external market drivers and what makes people tick. You are structured, organized, self-motivated. You drive end-to-end value chain optimization and make-buy-blend decisions across Shells Constructions and Road business.

To achieve your tasks, you are helped and supported by your colleagues of the supply optimization team and the wider supply team.

- Integrated offers and working with business & logistics partners across the value chain will be pivotal for being successful in decarbonizing the sector, incumbent will have the opportunity to support and drive initiatives in this key priority area for C&R

**What we need from you?**
- Experience in supply chain scheduling and understanding of supply & refinery economics
- Knowledge of operationalizing a supply chain plan through different modes of primary and secondary transport is essential
- Excellent engagement skills and commercial acumen to drive End-to-End decision-making process at the interfaces with Manufacturing, T&S and the rest of the Bitumen business
- Ability to prioritize and troubleshoot, highly flexible. Experience in change management situations and/or conflict resolution highly desirable
- Understanding of market pricing mechanisms, exposures and risk management
- Demonstrated evidence of Enterprise first values and behaviors + sound compliance track record will be taken into account during the selection process.
