Postdoc
The position is offered for a period of 4 years. The starting date is as soon as possible. The position is fulltime with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hessen, Germany (TV-H E 13).
The overall project aims to understand the long-term mechanisms underlying early life adversity, with a particular interest in glia cells.
**Tasks**:
- scientific services in research and teaching
- planning, conduction and analyzing animal studies in the domain of stree-related psychiatric disorders and neuropsycopharmacology
- expantion and deeping of the research within (inter-)national collaborations as well as involvement in publication activities and independent projects
- possibility of supervision of students and teaching activities
The position is limited to the period which is adequate to the duration of the qualification period. The qualification goal is a habilitation or an equivalent qualification required for a professorship. Within the scope of the assigned duties it will offer the possibility of independent scientific research for further qualification. The limitation complies to - 2, 1 WissZeitVG.
**Profile**:
- evidence of expertise in conducting animal experiments (FELASA equivalent) and substantial research experience with laboratory rodents (for exmple animal models of stress, use of pharmacological manipulation, stereotaxic surgery is advantageous) in the context of models of affective disorders ideally documented by relevant scientific publications (“peer-reviewed”)
- expierience in microscopy and molecular techniques
- knowledge of statisitcs and use of statistical programs
- high level of motivation, teamwork, organizational skills and willingness to take responsability
- enjoying working in an international research team
- very good knowledge of written and spoken English and ideally good knowledge of written and spoken German
