We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) Expert

**Senior Quantum Key Distribution Expert for Space Applications (f/m/x)**

**Your key responsibilities at qssys**:

- **System Design & Development**:

- Develop and optimize quantum communication protocols tailored to the unique challenges of space environments.
- **Technical Leadership**:

- Provide technical expertise and guidance to a team of engineers and researchers working on quantum communication systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including optical engineers, software developers, and system integrators, to ensure seamless integration of QKD systems.
- **Research & Innovation**:

- Stay abreast of the latest developments in quantum communication and cryptography and integrate cutting-edge technologies into our projects.
- **Project Management**:

- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of QKD projects, from conceptualization to deployment.
- Manage timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution.
- **Testing & Validation**:

- Design and implement testing frameworks for the validation and verification of QKD systems in space conditions.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data to refine and improve system performance.
- **Security & Compliance**:

- Ensure that all QKD systems meet the highest standards of security and compliance, particularly concerning space and international communication regulations.

**Qualifications**:

- Ph.D. in Quantum Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in quantum key distribution, quantum cryptography, or quantum communication.
- Strong background in quantum mechanics, quantum information theory, and cryptography.
- Familiarity with space-based communication systems and satellite technologies is highly desirable.
- Experience with optical systems, quantum optics, and photonic technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.

**Preferred Experience**:

- Previous experience with satellite missions or space-based experiments.
- Publications in high-impact journals or presentations at relevant conferences.
