**Your mission**: With immediate effect, we are looking to hire a** Leader (f/m/d) of our Optical Engineering Team**. The role will be responsible for the optical design of the instrument, including accessories and consumables. The role is based in our office in Monheim am Rhein, Germany but will need to work effectively with other global sites and external partners. This role reports to the Head of Instrument Development of the company, based in Monheim am Rhein, Germany. **Responsibilities** As a Team Lead (f/m/d) you are responsible for providing the Optical Engineering competence for the development projects as well as for the competence development in the following fields: concepting and architecture of the optical system, optics automation, fast 3D micro-imaging, ultraprecise opto-digital alignment and high-power multi-wavelength illumination sources as well as requirement engineering, testing and verification of the optical modules/subsystem. Furthermore, you manage the technical quality of deliverables and lead the technical discussions. You extend the team capacity through cooperation with the qualified external partners and supervise them. You provide technical leadership for the optics centered development projects. You will play a key role in the establishing of a multi-national dynamic team of motivated engineers in the field of optical engineering. **Your profile**: - Min. Master Degree in optical engineering or natural sciences - 5 years of practical experience in optical engineering of complex automated systems, ideally in the field of fluorescence microscopy and 2 years of team management experience - Advanced skills in simulation and tolerancing of optical systems using e.g. Zemax - Advanced user in MS Office (>2013) and Confluence/Jira, - Self-starter comfortable in a dynamic, fast paced, results driven environment - Structured and team oriented work style as well as analytical capabilities - Willingness to travel within Europe and internationally, - Languages: English fluent, German - nice to have. **Personal Characteristics**: **Why us?**: **About us**: The Molecular Cartography Company We are bringing the latest advances in German precision engineering to the biotechnology field.
