The CU Cyber department bundles cyber insurance expertise to efficiently support the business units in writing profitable cyber insurance and developing new fields of cyber business. It holds the risk management function for this particular line of business. Responsibilities include assessing accumulation potential, maintaining portfolio transparency, developing underwriting standards, and driving projects on cyber innovation and investments.

Understanding and quantification of cyber exposures is essential for our business and our team provides up-to-date methods and frameworks which enable the operational units to effectively and efficiently underwrite cyber risks. Your focus will be to further improve and enhance these tools, especially our **C**yber **U**nderwriting **T**ool (CUT) allowing for better cyber risk assessment, pricing and risk selection. CUT is under constant further development to represent state-of-the-art cyber risk assessment including internal and external data sources and knowledge to keep at the leading edge of this dynamic environment.

Your job
- Defining, maintaining and enhancing the risk assessment framework and parameters in CUT and ensuring it is always kept up to date
- Assessing the value of external data sources and vetting partners, threat and risk quality data vendors and support integrating these external data sources into CUT
- Being responsible for all CUT-driven innovation projects from the technical side
- Supporting other important tasks undertaken by the unit, such as accumulation modelling with technical cyber security expertise
- Delivering thought leadership on risk assessment methods with brokers, clients and on conferences

**Profile**:

- Degree in information technology, information security or related field. Security-relevant certification like CISSP, CISA, CISM are an asset
- Significant and multi-year professional experience in hands-on cyber security fields such as cyber risk manager, security consultant, security architecture, SOC/CSIRT, incident management, or audit/assessment
- In-depth knowledge of IT security systems, standards, and procedures (e.g. ISO 27000, NIST)
- Experience or know-how about cyber insurance would be an asset
- Pragmatic thinking, fun in and willingness to work innovative and estimate risk (parameters) with imperfect knowledge
- Being creative and enjoying working with innovative questions in a very dynamic and challenging environment, flexibility to deal with changing side conditions
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate complex issues to internal and external stakeholders in the insurance industry with a non-technical background
- Fluent business English and good knowledge of German. Other languages would be an asset
