Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings - carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

**Environmental Product Compliance Specialist**:
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- **Support Global Compliance Program**: Assist in the development and documentation of a comprehensive global product environmental compliance program aligned with Corning’s processes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements..
- **Monitor Environmental Regulations**: Continuously monitor environmental regulations and standards to ensure compliance across all product lines and geographical regions.
- **Screen Regulations for Applicability**: Analyze and screen regulations for applicability to the company's products and operations. Ability to read legal language is a nice-to-have skill.
- **Reporting**: Prepare and submit reports as required by environmental regulations, collaborate with consultants on registrations and reporting. Address inquiries from customers related to sustainability
- **Cross-Functional Collaboration**: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product development, procurement, supply chain, legal, and regulatory affairs to assure environmental product compliance of Corning products sold to external customers.
- **Stakeholder Engagement**: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, consultants, to foster partnerships, share best practices, provide information on environmental product compliance regulations and advocate for sustainable solutions.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental compliance, quality, product stewardship, or related fields, preferably in a corporate setting.
- Strong understanding of global environmental regulations and standards, particularly related to inputs/hazardous substances, product end-of-life management, packaging.
- Minimum basic ability to read and interpret legal language.
- Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, analyze complex issues, and develop practical solutions.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, chemistry or related field.
- Knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
