Applied Scientist, Dbs Redshift

Progress towards or a completed PhD in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Applied Math or equivalent highly technical field
- Familiarity with programming languages such as C/C++ and Python
- Proficient using R, Python, or other equivalent statistics and machine learning tools
- Experience working in the learning field, recommendations and/or personalization
- Proven experience in building machine learning or deep learning models and/or systems
- Experienced in computer science fundamentals such as object-oriented design, data structures and algorithm design

At Amazon Redshift, you will invent, implement, and deploy state of the art machine learning algorithms and systems that make the service faster, cheaper, and easier to use and manage. You will build prototypes and explore conceptually new solutions. You will interact closely with our customers and with the academic community. You will be at the heart of a growing and exciting focus area and work with other acclaimed engineers and world famous scientists.

Key job responsibilities

As a DB Applied Scientist you will:

- Work closely with software engineers, product managers and other Amazon research scientists to lead the end-to-end process of identifying the problem, designing, building and deploying predictive, scalable machine learning models and scientifically measuring their impact on multiple aspects of Redshift
- Conceptualize smart solutions to challenging systems problems
- Research and implement novel machine learning and deep learning algorithms and models applied to the domain of system problems
- Responsible to drive the delivery of these solutions to production and also support them after general availability
- You will also have the opportunity to publish and present your work at scientific venues in the fields of Database/Machine Learning

- Experience with large distributed systems
