Job summary

As a Solutions Architect in the AWS Startup team, you’ll build technical relationships with founders and leaders at startups of all sizes and operate as their trusted advisor, ensuring they get the most out of the cloud at every stage of their journey.

You’ll manage the overall technical relationship between AWS and our customers, making recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability and operational efficiency to accelerate their challenging, mission-critical projects.

Internally, you will be the voice of the customer, sharing their needs and wants to inform the roadmap of AWS features.

In this role, your creativity will link technology to tangible solutions, with the opportunity to define or invent cloud-native reference architectures for a variety of use cases.

You will participate in the creation and sharing of best practices, technical content and new reference architectures (e.g. white papers, code samples, blog posts) and evangelize and educate about AWS technology (e.g. through workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos or conferences).

This role is within the Germany/Switzerland/Austria (DACH) organization and you would be working with Startup customers.

We are hiring in the following locations: Berlin, Munich, Zurich, Vienna.

Key job responsibilities
- Collaborate within the startup ecosystem (accelerators, incubators, VCs and meetups) to educate startups and support their growth
- As a Solutions Architect, you will work directly with customers to accelerate their projects and recommend best-practice architectures in line with their long-term business outcomes.
- You will own the technical relationship with the customer and operate as their trusted advisor. The best interests of the customer will shape the guidance you provide.
- Share the voice of the customer to influence the roadmap of new features and services for the AWS platform.
- Create and capture best practices, technical content and new reference architectures (e.g. white papers, code samples, blog posts).
- Evangelize and educate about AWS technology (e.g. workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos or conferences).
- Contribute to the growth of the Solutions Architecture organization by hiring, coaching and mentoring others.
- Develop areas of depth in technical domains relevant to your interests and your customer's outcomes.
- Expertise in one or more of the following: DevOps, Containers, Serverless, Networking, Security, Databases, Cloud Migration
- Experience working in a customer-facing role or a role which involved public speaking
- AWS certification (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional) or other industry certification
- Experience in the startup community (e.g. founder, mentor, early technical employee)
- Strong verbal, and written communications skills
