Product Security is a key team within Zalando, providing insights on security, privacy, and compliance for all of our e-commerce products and services. As a Senior Product Security Expert at Zalando, you will be working in an embedded way, being a crucial link between the business unit engineering teams and Information Security. Within the business unit, you will play a critical role, introducing and promoting security, privacy, and compliance best practices to support the engineering teams to provide our customers with the best mature products. Establishing centralized governance as well as preventative, detective, and reactive measures which put the right guardrails in place to ensure we offer a secure and compliant baseline to all. You come with hands-on experience of configuring security controls and can take ownership of your deliverables.

- Advising engineering teams to take responsibility for security, privacy, and compliance aspects of their products and services;
- Enabling and guiding management (Leads, Heads, Directors, and VPs) on addressing security, privacy, and compliance risks;
- Challenging technical solutions in a constructive and collaborative manner, creating a path that works for both the business as well as security maturity;
- Fostering a culture of security, privacy, and compliance by design;
- Collaborating within the team and outside of the team, coming together to solve hard problems and grow;
- Improving engineering standards, tooling, and processes;
- Grow as a team and have fun while doing so (knowledge sharing, fun activities, etc.)

***WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF**:

- You have strong communication skills, you know how to explain the complex nature of security and privacy risks to both management as well as engineering stakeholders;
- You are solution driven and have a pragmatic mindset - you find practical solutions which work for your stakeholders;
- You have knowledge of implementing NIST or ISO 27K (or other certificates) at the infrastructure level, delivering security configuration and managing a set of guardrails and controls;
- You have experience with security in cloud-native environments (e.g. AWS, GCP), CI/CD, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code;
- Ideally, if you are already familiar with DevOps/DevSecOps work and have performed that in one of your previous positions.
