Food Service Worker

**Duties**:
The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of manual tasks in food preparation and food service areas.

The primary duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

- Process payments and operates a cash register.
- Sets up and breaks down/cleans food service/dining areas.
- Assembles food using prepared ingredients.
- Cleaning of equipment, facilities, dishes, etc.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position requires the incumbent to satisfactorily complete a physical examination.
- This position requires the incumbent to perform shift work for days, nights, weekends and holidays.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess, or obtain and maintain, a Food Handler's Certificate.

**Qualifications**:

- **The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is US Citizens and legal US residents in Germany. Recruitment limited only to the local commuting area of Spangdahlem. **Legal U.S. residents must possess a social security number or green card and must be:

- **Qualifying Experience**:

- Must possess skill in dealing with the public.
- Experience in food service and cash register operation is desirable but not required.

**Education**:
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.

**Additional information**:

- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- All Federal NAF employees are required by PL 104-134 to have salary payments made by electronic funds transfer/direct deposit.
- Probationary period may be required.
