We are currently looking for a visionary and results-driven Director of PMO to join our R&D department.
As the Director of PMO at ELU (Electrification Unit of Yanmar), you will oversee the strategic direction and execution of project management practices for battery and ePowertrain initiatives. Your role involves leading a team of project managers, ensuring that projects align with Yanmar’s strategic objectives, are delivered on time, and adhere to budgetary constraints. By fostering best practices in project management, you will facilitate effective cross-functional collaboration, drive efficiency, and promote a culture of continuous improvement. Tasks
- Strategic Leadership: Define and implement project management strategies that align with Yanmar’s business objectives, prioritizing projects by impact and feasibility.
- Team Development: Lead and mentor a team of project managers, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Project Oversight: Ensure that all battery and ePowertrain projects are executed efficiently, adhering to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Process Optimization: Develop and refine project management processes, methodologies, and tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise regularly with senior management and other stakeholders, providing clear updates on project status, challenges, and strategic adjustments.
- Risk Management: Oversee risk assessment and mitigation strategies, ensuring potential issues are proactively managed across project lifecycles.

**Requirements**:

- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; PMP certification or equivalent is advantageous.
- At least 10 years of project management experience, with 5 or more years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Proven experience in managing complex technical projects in the automotive or industrial sectors.
- Experience specifically with electrification or battery/ePowertrain projects.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Proficiency in additional languages, such as German or Japanese.
- A strategic mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
