Power Generation Mechanic

Job Summary:
**THIS IS A TEMPORARY BACO 90 POSITION; NOT TO EXCEED 90 DAYS.**

**Purpose and Scope**:
The Power Generation Mechanic operates and maintains motor generators, power generators and backs-up generators as needed for the Global Prepositioned Materiel Services (GPMS) Program.

**Essential Responsibilities**:

- Maintain, repair, and service Power Generators at the unit, direct support, and general support maintenance level.
- Repairs, inspects, fabricates, cleans, operates, maintains, corrosion controls, reconstitutes, and prepares BEAR assets/equipment air/sea/road haul shipments in accordance with Maintenance Action Sheets, Technical Orders, Manuals, Checklists, Regulations, Maintenance Action Sheets, and Unit Type Code (UTC) Configuration listings.
- Interprets electrical drawings, schematics and blueprints.
- Conforms to USAF/Amentum International safety, hazardous material and quality standards.
- Performs maintenance in accordance with Maintenance Action Sheets, Air Force Technical Orders and company directives.
- Assists in the erection, construction and operation of Bare Base power generation and associated equipment to support real world exercises and contingencies.
- Performs servicing and/or maintenance of in-use assets as required.
- Ensures all tools, personal protective equipment and clothing issued remain safe, secure and serviceable, reporting any deficiencies.
- Prepares and completes documentation including Work Orders, USAF Supply and company forms and update Maximo.
- Operates material handling equipment as required.
- Inspects Hazardous Materials within the assigned work center and coordinates with the appropriate office for the disposal of HAZMAT when required
- Perform daily preventative maintenance, including but not limited to, fueling, fluid checks, and overall functionality of power generating equipment at remote sites.
- Perform direct support maintenance functions including replacing/overhauling major engine components, troubleshooting fuel, electrical or engine problems.
- Additional responsibility for ordering and receiving service and replacement parts, coordinating generators and fuel tanks, and inspecting and maintaining fuel tanks, and electrical wiring.
- Routine travel to remote site facilities by vehicle
- Work may be reviewed by supervisor for compliance to accepted practices
- Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Vocational/technical training, licenses, or certificates
- Two (2) to Five (5) years related experience.
- Primary and Secondary Power Equipment training
- Electrical Safety training
- Lightning surge suppression equipment training
- Must be able to read electrical schematic and perform technical inspections.
- Forklift experience may be required.
- Must be experienced on high/low voltage generators and load testing.
- Must have a current U.S. Passport.
- USAF Experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Maximo experience preferred.
