**The Garcia-Saez group aims at understanding the underlying physical principles and molecular mechanisms that govern membrane organization and dynamics. A key open question is how membrane behavior and signaling are coordinated by the interplay between multiple molecular components and the membrane mechanical properties. To address these questions, we focus on the mitochondrial alterations during apoptosis as well as on membrane permeabilization as a common feature in the execution of regulated cell death.**

**YOUR TASKS**:

- As part of our team you will be involved in the process of creating AI tools for mitochondria analysis
- You participate in programming deep learning models
- You support us with the creation of datasets analysis and preparation
- You participate in the deployment of trained models

**YOUR PROFILE**:

- Bachelor degree in computer science/ bio-informatics
- Enrolled in Master program at University of Cologne
- Curious, interest in Machine/Deep Learning, computer vision and bio-computing
- Strong programming skills in programming with python/Matlab and Open CV
- Curious, motivated and commitment to high-quality research
- Good communication skills, fluency in English, sense for teamwork
