**Senior Director of Global Accounting & Tax (x/f/m) - Berlin / Hybrid**

**The role**

An exciting opportunity to lead and grow finance functions spanning across regional Accounting teams, Consolidation & IFRS team, Financial Systems team, as well as the Tax teams located in Germany, the UK, Hong Kong and mainland China. You will oversee the general accounting, lead the first time adoption of IFRS, navigate regional and group financial audits, drive automation across the broader Finance department, participate in M&A activities and post-merger integrations, and contribute to fundraising events. You will also partner closely within a broader Finance team and collaborate across the organization in defining the processes for direct and indirect tax planning & reporting and transfer price compliance.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead, mentor and develop the team of ca. 40 professionals
- Oversee accounting operations across all locations and entities
- Oversee continuous roll-out of NetSuite ERP across the Group of companies and newly acquired entities, and drive automation across the broader Finance department
- Transition the Group of companies to IFRS
- Design, implement and maintain appropriate policies and procedures to enable accurate and timely financial reporting, compliant with HGB, IFRS and other regulatory requirements
- Coordinates work relating to external audits in the periodic review of the company financials
- Be responsible for managing all the groups tax reporting and compliance obligations, leveraging both the internal tax team and external advisors to ensure all obligations are met
- Provide strategic direction and advice to management on all issues pertaining to tax and help creating and maintaining an effective tax strategy for the business globally
- Principal contact with Tax Authorities and the Company's representative in tax audits
- Partner with functional partners across the organization and add value to strategic initiatives, such as IP and corporate restructuring
- Be a part of M&A activities and post-merger integration
- Constantly seek for improvement opportunities and drive changes

**What you bring**
- 12+ years in Accounting, with 5+ years people management experience
- Experience of overseeing a tax function
- Knowledge of European corporate and indirect tax laws, along with a working understanding of international tax concepts, with the particular focus on Germany and the United Kingdom
- Accounting / Finance degree
- ACCA or similar qualification an asset
- Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and financial reporting
- IFRS experience an asset
- Excellent communication and leadership skills are mandatory
- Fluent English and German
