The _SHARE BERLIN Institute GmbH (SBI) _is the German headquarters of the central coordination of the international survey project _Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE)_, the _SHARE-European Research Infrastructure Consortium (SHARE-ERIC)_ and the associated scientific research. The non-profit organisation was founded in 2022 by the _Social Science Research Centre Berlin (WZB)_, the _German Institute for Economic Research (DIW)_, _Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin_ and the _German Centre of Gerontology (DZA)_ with the aim of advancing pioneering interdisciplinary research that combines socio-economic and biomedical approaches with a European perspective.

SHARE is a study founded in 2004 to analyse the impact of health, social, economic and environmental policies on the life course of European citizens and beyond. With more than 160,000 respondents from 30 countries, SHARE is the largest interdisciplinary panel study and one of the largest European research infrastructures in Europe. Through the accredited _SHARE Research Data Centre (FDZ-SHARE)_, SHARE already provides over 20,000 registered users worldwide with internationally comparable socio-economic and biomedical longitudinal microdata for scientific research. Since 2011, SHARE has also had the legal form of a European Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC).

We are now seeking a motivated individual to join our team in an international and academically stimulating environment. We are offering an interesting and varied role with the opportunity to make a significant impact.

**Accounting Clerk (f/m/d)**

full-time or part-time (20 hours per week minimum), to start **as soon as possible**, initially limited until August 2027 with prospective for contractual renewal.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Accounting and processing of payment transactions
- Preparation of Payment requests for the SHARE-ERIC member countries
- Implementation of funding requirements in collaboration with funding agencies in the SHARE member states and other consortium countries
- Preparation of monthly reports of foreign trade payments to the German Bundesbank
- Handling VAT exemption procedures within EU countries and preparation of documents for VAT reimbursement in Germany via the Federal Central Tax Office
- Maintenance and management of data in the electronic systems of various funding bodies

**Your profile**:

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Business Administration, Accounting, Finance)
- Good knowledge of funding regulations and tax law
- Preferably several years of professional experience in accounting
- Strong communication skills in German and English, both written and spoken
- Confident user of MS Office and experience with accounting software is an advantage
- Structured, detail-oriented and reliable working style with a strong affinity for numbers
- Service-oriented mindset, willingness to take responsibility and a high level of initiative
