Discovery Life Sciences is a trusted provider of bioanalytic and biospecimen services to hundreds of customers across the U.S. and around the world. The VP, Strategic Accounts contributes to our mission by consistently closing new and repeat business from customer accounts in an assigned territory.

Responsibilities: *
- Proactively lead and execute a corporate Strategic Account planning process for assigned biopharma accounts that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones. Travel may be up to 50%
- Lead forecasting and analyzing of Strategic Account customers and products as well as helping with ad hoc analysis in diagnosing the health and accelerating growth of various product lines and sales strategies
- Develop strong presence within assigned Strategic Accounts by establishing new relationships, fostering existing relationships, leading group presentations, scientific expos, targeted marketing strategies.
- Coordinate large, strategic meetings between customer’s senior scientific leadership and appropriate Company leadership to win large-scale projects with substantial revenue potential
- Pitch and present Discovery Life Sciences’ research services and solutions using professional selling skills.
- Present and help evaluate the workability of client projects with Discovery Life Sciences’ procurement Feasibility team, Scientific leadership team, and internal and external collaborators
- Productively manage an opportunity pipeline (25-50+ open opportunities) and Feasibility case queue with updated next steps and feedback from customers
- Consistently advance calls and win business by setting clear next steps and properly executing them
- Seek to develop long-term contracts with each Strategic Account across entire product and service portfolio to build a higher-level of commitment between our Company and the Account
- Report market intel back to team (Management, Business Unit Leadership, Sales, Marketing, etc.) by documenting sales calls and client feedback
- Work cooperatively with inside sales support professionals, Business Development Directors, Marketing, and Feasibility to maximize sales success in assigned territory
- Generate a variety of reports for clients as needed
- Respect the privacy of the personal information of patients, co-workers, and all individuals with whom the Company interacts
- Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to the Company and its operations

Education and/or Experience Requirements: *
- 15+ years of progressively increasing responsibilities in business development preferred
- Experience selling into B and C suite at global pharmaceutical companies
- Ability to succeed in growing the business holistically across all business lines by influencing prospects and
internal customers alike
- Bachelor’s degree required; MS, MBA or PhD is preferred
- Ability to build and nurture relationships with clients and potential clients
- Ability to develop and implement strategic solutions with clients and potential clients
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team
- Formal sales training preferred
- Team-first attitude and passion to achieve Strategic Accounts team and company-wide goals
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Google Docs.
- Linkedin Sales Navigator experience is desirable but not required
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed to respond to customer needs
- Domestic (required) and International (as needed) travel - may be up to 50%
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

This job is performed primarily in an office environment, with regular travel to customer locations. The majority of the work day is spent either sitting or standing. Duties require the ability to communicate clearly with internal or external contacts, either verbally or in writing.
