Military Operations Support Specialist

The TSG Military Operations Support Specialist (MOSS) shall have expertise and experience in a variety of military operations, engineering, planning and communications tasks which enable the TSG to execute its mission to train, equip, advise and assist its customer. The MOSS is a nondeployable and non-Emergency-Essential member of the team with the focus of maintaining TSG preparedness to facilitate the TSG’s training, exercise and operational deployments. The MOSS will frequently be the lone overseer of their Secret-cleared facility that houses International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)-controlled (U.S.only) sensors and communications equipment.
- Operations: Work with military leadership on the tracking and reporting internal training and readiness requirements in a SECRET DoD database. Maintain team internal calendar and permissions in conjunction with the Department’s short
- and long-range calendars. Drafting of classified (up to SECRET//NOFORN//Formerly Restricted Data) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) reports: e.g., Situation Reports, Quarterly Training Briefings, Director’s Update Briefing. Maintain account access to UNCLASSIFIED and SECRET networks. Submitting country clearances, creating and tracking Aircraft and Personnel Automated Clearance System (APACS) submissions, completing Isolated Personnel Reports (ISOPREP), maintaining passports, coordination of travel arrangements and travel resources for the team. Serve as the Personnel Recovery Mission Software (PRMS) Unit Manager for the assigned TSG.
- Development of strategies for program planning/execution and resource utilization in support of training and readiness and associated records. Receive, sign for, manage and issue Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI) to support secure communications. Maintenance and preparation of DoD hand-held and satellite communication systems.
- Assist TSG leadership in submitting country clearances, creating and APACS submissions, completing ISOPREP. Assist in the coordination of travel arrangements and travel resources for the team. Perform functions as team correspondence manager. Act as Information Technology (IT) Work Group Administrator and Telephone Control Officer.
- Facility Engineer: Plan, budget for and oversee facility maintenance. Submit and track work orders, escort/coordinate on-site personnel. Assist TSG Security Manager and coordinate facility security and facility access. Synchronize all facility management efforts with the Department Facility Manager at headquarters at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
- Shipping and Organizational Mail Manager and Coordinator. Function as a Hazardous Materials (HazMat) shipper of items, including radiological sources for the TSG (for positions in Germany, this would include packaging and shipping items within the European Union (EU) and to the United States). Coordinate customs paperwork.
- Equipment and Vehicle Fleet Manager. Execute the vehicle maintenance program, manage gas cards/receipts and license plates. Coordinate maintenance efforts for vehicles, weapons, communication equipment and night vision equipment. Assist in the maintenance of deployable and ITAR-controlled TSG equipment. Maintain and use the appropriate fuel cards/fobs. Operate U.S. government vehicles, as required, to support the TSG mission.

Required Education and Experience:

- A bachelor's degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
- An associate's degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
- A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
- A high school graduate plus 11 years of qualifying recent specialized experience.

Desired Skills, Abilities and Experience:

- Four years specialized experience in military operations, engineering, planning and communications to include tracking, monitoring and executing short and long term operations. Specialized experience also includes facility oversight and a broad knowledge of the requirements for maintaining a military-operational facility, including a working knowledge of U.S. federal and DoD building operations regulations.
- Must have experience completing and tracking Isolated Personnel Reports (ISOPREP) and Aircraft and Personnel Automated Clearance System (APACS) submissions.
- SECRET Clearance. Must be capable of obtaining Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet) access so as to support their responsibilities as the Personnel Recovery Mission Software (PRMS) Unit Manager and the submission of readiness reports via the Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS).
- Experience with Air Force/U.S. Transportation Command (TRANSCOM) movement and transportation requirements.
- United States HazMat shipping qualified, to include radiological materials, or capable of qualifying within 90 days. This includes Technical Transportation of HAZMAT (Ammo62) and Hazard Class 7.
