**Job Description**:

- Perform advanced accounting tasks requiring judgement and analysis relating to the local monthly Accounting close operations in the German entity and 2 subsidiaries
- Own local GAAP to US GAAP translation process, uploads, and reconciliations which are related to parent company Oracle accounting system
- Prepare monthly closing entries, perform Intercompany reconciliation and settlements and year-end financial statements and tax and other compliance filings for local entity and subsidiaries
- Responsible for the technical aspects of Accounting, i.e. cost centers, project codes, re-charges, FX evaluations, VAT keys, accounting processes in local systems
- Treasury assistance, i.e funding the operating bank accounts, accounts payable process when needed, etc
- Prepare/review/implement and ensure compliance with main local German GAAP filing requirements ie. VAT, EC Sales, Bundesbank, 1099, in the various countries of operation
- Evaluation of proper tax treatment, ensuring all necessary taxes are assessed and remitted i.e. withholding tax, flat rate taxes, reverse charge, import tax with assistance of tax advisors
- Prepare posted journal entries and expense reports to advisors for analysis and own communication and processes with external advisors
- Ad-hoc reporting and analysis as requested by management

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

**Qualifications**:
Required
- Strong educational background within Accounting, Bachelors or Masters level
- Solid understanding of German HGB, and US GAAP
- Ability to prepare, analyse and support German Statutory and Tax filings
- Minimum 5 to 7 years experience as Accounting Manager, Controller, auditor etc.
- Advanced Excel skills
- Fluent in German and English
- Experienced user/admin of Large Accounting Software such as Oracle
- Resilient, organized, defines clear priorities and allocates resources effectively
- Ability to quickly comprehend new processes, an analytical thinker
- Structured, and conscientious work ethic
- Able to independently make decision and direct junior team members
- A team player and able to work with third parties and other internal resources

Preferred
- US CPA, UK ACCA or German Qualified Accountant
- Use of local German accounting systems such as Diamant or Datev
