We are looking for an experienced, self-confident Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) to work at the European Astronaut Centre near Cologne, Germany. This unique position will see you providing Quality Control and ISD consultancy for Astronaut and Ground Support Personnel (GSP) training. You are a good communicator, and you are excited by the prospect of helping prepare humans to undertake missions to the International Space Station (ISS), the Moon and beyond. You already have experience of working with Instructors and developing courseware, preferably in a large organisation or multinational environment. This position is permanent and part time (20hrs / week).

**What You Will Focus on**:

- Participation in dry runs and observation of selected lesson delivery.
- Review and re-organise lesson structure and content, edit instructional materials, reference documents, and raw materials into clear, effective, interactive training.
- Review storyboards, narrative scripts, and determine instructional strategies and media elements (graphics, animation, and audio), training facilities requirements and training aids to be used.
- Providing feedback to instructors on delivery, communication skills, classroom control, student interaction, and on the use of instructional methods and training aids for effective lesson delivery.
- Co-host and deliver lessons for Train the Trainer and Instructional techniques courses
- Provide consultation as required to ESA Training Leads for existing course rework and new course Training Needs Analysis, including development of Learning Objectives and specifying training methods and media.

**What You Bring**:
Essentially
- Proven experience of Instructor Led Training, including mentoring Instructors and Train the Trainer
- Knowledge of learning design models and the training process
- Excellent presentation skills, with experience of delivering instruction/training material.
- Proven experience of developing and reviewing training courseware material
- Solid Office skills (especially PPT and Word)
- Attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Native or C1 level English
- High level of integrity and empathy with a proven ability to foster positive relationships across teams and hierarchies.
- Flexibility, with an ability to adapt and problem solve
- Good personal organisational skillsGood communication skills;
Desirably
- Multimedia skills (e.g. photo/graphic editing and manipulation)
- Experience of working in multinational, multicultural or intergovernmental organisations
- Experience of working with remote Instructor Led Training
- Knowledge and awareness of modern trends and learning technologies
- Proven experience of working with Learning Management Systems
- Experience of project management for multi-team projects
