THE ROLE
As a Senior Engineering Support Specialist, you will be part of our Operations Team. Being the connection between our Software Engineering and Operation (infrastructure) teams you will help us to take our software development platform to the next level.
THE TEAM
As a Senior Engineering Support Specialist, you will be part of our core Operations team, which is the home of Site Reliability Engineers, network and Datacenter Engineers, Video Operations and our 24/7 Support team.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a member of the Engineering Support Team you will be responsible for:
- Issue Tracking and Workflow Management like JIRA and Trello (together with the Agile team)
- Administer and configure Jira to meet the needs of the engineering team, including creating and managing projects, workflows, and issue types.
- Create and maintain Jira dashboards and reports to track team performance, project status, and key metrics.
- Stay up to date with new features and functionalities in Jira and evaluate their potential benefits for the engineering team
- Source Control Management
- Administer and configure GitHub organization account, and access controls.
- Collaborate with teams to integrate GitHub with other tools and systems, such as CI/CD pipelines and issue-tracking systems.
- Continuously assess and improve the GitHub usage and workflows, identifying opportunities for automation, process enhancements, and productivity improvements.
- Stay up to date with new features and functionalities in GitHub and evaluate their potential benefits for the engineering team.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate engineers on advanced GitHub features
- Application Performance Management
- Implement and configure integrations with 3rd party tools and services, such as issue-tracking systems, communication tools, monitoring solutions, dashboards etc
- CI/DI pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab)
- Designing, developing, and maintaining internal tools that streamline and automate various processes, such as data management, reporting, or workflow management
- Developing automated build, test, and release infrastructures governance practices
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Knowledgeable and proficient in deploying common industry test/build/CICD tools and technology
- Experience with configuration management
- Proficiency in developing software in a Linux environment
- Experience writing production code in one of: Go, C++ or Python
- Passion for building highly scalable and reliable software infrastructure
- Experience with cloud technologies, e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, or Terraform
- Ideas on how to further optimize our software development platform and help extend the capabilities of our systems every day
- Curiosity about the inner works of platforms and ability to think and operate at scale to help ensure our software development teams are productive and efficient
