In our Bachelor's degree programme Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, students acquire a thorough grounding in Computer Science, combined with the essentials of Artificial Intelligence, opening the door to a wide range of careers.
**Contents**: In the Bachelor's degree programme Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, students acquire up-to-date knowledge about applied computing and the design of computer-based systems. Fundamental computer science modules include, for example, programming, software engineering, web technologies, database systems and big data, data visualization and human-computer interfaces. In addition, the programme covers central AI topics including computer vision, natural language understanding, expert systems, heuristic optimization, intelligent agents, machine learning and neural networks.
In addition, the students deal with ethical issues, data privacy and security problems associated with the use of information processing systems. They are able to work scientifically in teams and to transfer scientific results into professional practice as well as to communicate and present such results convincingly.
**Dual studies**: The dual studies programme enables a combination of practical training elements in a company with the theoretical education provided by the university. There is a choice of either the joint model (academic study + vocational training) or the degree course with vocational experience (academic study + intense practical phases). There is an obvious advantage to students here: practically oriented academic study generally enables a particularly smooth transition from university to the world of work. What is more, the student usually receives financial remuneration from the company concerned.
