Intern / Working Student - Compliance (M/F/d)

The Compliance unit is a function within Finance in Motion which is responsible for a wide range of regulatory tasks, including but not limited to anti-money laundering/counter terrorism financing, capital markets compliance, conflict of interest matters, anti-money laundering, sanctions, capital markets compliance and illegal acts (bribery, fraud and corruption), data protection or information security. Acting as a second line of defense in light of a recently acquired Alternative Investment Fund Manager (KVG) license, the Compliance function is also in charge of conducting second-line controls and provide advisory on the implementation of regulatory requirements driven by German Investment Code (KAGB), German Anti-Money Laundering Code (GwG), Anti-Bribery and Corruption and related legislative acts. The Working Student will be supporting the Compliance unit, especially with the update of the fund’s databases.**Key responsibilities**:
- Support the development, management, and maintenance of the Compliance Framework in close and positive collaboration with the business department
- Assisting with the maintenance and update of the funds’ portfolio databases
- Supporting with the preparation of presentations in relation to compliance relevant topics such as anti-money laundering, sanctions, capital markets compliance, illegal acts (bribery, fraud and corruption), data protection and/or information security
- Providing support to the Compliance unit on the above-mentioned compliance related matters as well as with the implementation of compliance requirements with the relevant business units across Finance in Motion
- Assisting with the preparation of periodic reports for the funds’ governing bodies based on the evolving risks in the funds’ portfolio
**What we expect**:
- You are in the process of obtaining a degree in Finance, Economics, or another relevant field
- Ability to use spreadsheets, graphing, tables, calculations, and automation efficiently to process large quantities of data relevant to business tasks
- Ability to effectively communicate with business units in a persuasive and sensitive way
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong communication skills, presentation experience and ability to work under pressure
- Basic understanding of compliance requirements within the fund industry will be an asset
- Familiarity with development finance/impact investment sector is an advantage
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and preferably also in German
