The** Institute of Pathology **is seeking a

**Researcher (M/F/d) in Artificial Intelligence in Digital Pathology**:
The fulltime position (38,5 h/week) starts as soon as possible, initially limited for 1 year with option of prolongation.

The project will focus on the development of new methods of AI-based analysis of histopathological data, including the innovative method of Next Generation Morphometry and Pathomics, and their integration with other data. This will predominantly utilize the large, multi-center datasets of patients with kidney diseases, all of which are already available. The focus will be on developing sustainable AI (sustainable or green AI) as well as secure and explainable AI. Own state-of-the-art computational infrastrucute with GPU cluster with several NVIDIA DGX A 100 is available. The research is embedded in the ERC Consolidator Grant (AIM.imaging.CKD) and the Clinical Research Group (InteraKD - Integration of new methods to advance translational kidney research).

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Optimization of models and analyses for sustainability and security
- Evaluation, presentation (visualization) and interpretation of results
- Independent review of literature
- Datamanagement

**Profile**
- Graduate degree (Masters degree, PhD or equivalent) in computer science, statistics, bioinformatics, or computer science, physics, or mathematics
- Experience with high performance computing
- Advanced programming skills
- Experience with statistical analyses
- Willingness to work in a team and the ability to work independently in a competitive international environment is required
- Good working knowledge of the English language
- High motivation
- Enthusiasm for applied research on clinical issues and above-average commitment
