Your tasks
Material and Supplier strategy:
- Conduct market analysis
- Support the strategy definition with cross-functional partners
- Documentation and implementation of the supplier strategy
- Initiate the new supplier introduction process
- Define the annual supplier list for own material groups which are reflected in the category strategic paper based on Continental requirements
Achieve best market conditions:
- Actively influence the sourcing process during development phase through:
- Supplier selection
- Negotiation of prices and commercial conditions
- Preparing Sourcing decision sheet
- Negotiation:
- Perform annual negotiations to constantly improve the cost situation of Continental Automotive in case of escalation
- Negotiate changes with suppliers
Contract management:
- Ensure fulfillment of all necessary requirements by negotiating and concluding legally binding contracts with the respective suppliers
Data maintenance:
- Ensure in time implementation of correct data in the respective IT systems
- Responsibility for monthly controlling and correction of local data and target achievement
Continuous Cost:
- Support re-design in cost reduction programs
- Drive improvement programs with suppliers
**Profile**:
- Completed study in business studies, engineering (or related) field or a comparable qualification
- Profound work experience within Purchasing and/or Automotive industry
- Profound Experience in project management incl. necessary skills, tools and techniques
- Procurement process and Product Life Cycle (PLC) knowledge
- Purchasing management (including standards of quality system requirements, policies and norms (IATF 19649/ VDA 6.1)
- Risk management
- Technical understanding of specific components
- Commercial knowledge, includes contract law etc.
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Business fluent in English and German spoken and written
- Management skills, tools and techniques which ensures a strategic, profit and resulted oriented handling (balanced scorecard, benchmarking, etc.)
- Team skills, conflict management, open-mindedness and networking abilities
- Communication skills, including presentation and negotiation techniques to operate in different cultures
