Professorship “sustainability in Management

**Your mission**:

- Teaching courses of management, organization, innovation, sustainability, intercultural skills, leadership and related topics, in our (current) Digital Business, Digital Marketing, Coding and Software Engineering, Data Science bachelors and Digital Transformation master programs and (new accredited) study programs at masters (and bachelor) levels, in the context of digital transformation and sustainability, industry 4.0, data science and international MBA, among others. Teaching activities also include those of further and executive education in the form of short courses, course certificates, train-the-trainers and alike.
- Supervising examinations, internships, projects, bachelor and master theses.
- Participating in the further development, consultation and organization of new courses.
- Planning and implementation of research and development projects, including publishing activities and other initiatives as adequate.
- Establishing networks with partner companies and supporting internships and collaborative projects.
- Participating in the academic self-administration of the university as well as in marketing and students admission activities, thus acting as a representative of XU.

**Your profile**:

- Completed doctoral or PhD studies in Social Sciences, Business or related fields, with knowledge expertise in Management, Innovation, Sustainability, Organizational Governance and related relevant topics.
- Practical professional experience in university and industries environments of at least 5 years (preferably after completing the PhD). Additional knowledge and experience in the field of innovation and development, including project development, partnerhip cooperation with industry is considered a plus.
- Understanding and practice in the area of “trisectorality” (economy, civil society, politics/administration).
- Experience with latest trends in sustainability and digitization, particularly with regards to industrial projects is relevant. Also Start-up experience is desirable.
- Deep understanding of the role of governance in organizations.
- Research track record in social sciences, particularly in the relevant above-mentioned fields proven by consultancy projects and/or publications in international scientific conferences and journals, etc. Additional experience in the acquisition, execution and management of research projects and other knowledge transfer projects is a plus.
- Self-identification with the innovative teaching approach of the XU Exponential University.
- Commitment to contribute to the teaching experience with an interdisciplinary approach, as well as with practical experience in a digitally growing world.
- Commitment to engage and develop the innovative and interactive didactic XU concepts and methods.
Commitment to participate in interdisciplinary courses as well as in the development and implementation of English-language based courses.
- It is expected that the future holder of the position will shift their center of life to Berlin/Potsdam area (on-site presence).
- Very good communication skills and teamwork, ability to interact and motivate students and other key stakeholders.
- Fulfill the official requirement captured by - 41 of State of Brandenburg (Brandenburgisches Hochschulgesetz (BbgHG)).

**Which other criteria are important?**
- Relevant teaching and project development experience in sustainable management and organization and related key areas and disciplines
- Relevant experience in the supervision of scientific work of students, such as bachelor and master theses is desirable
- Experience with the acquisition and development of third-party projects (external funding)
- Broad professional practical experience (with leadership responsibility) in the field of the appointment, for example in tech start-ups, tech companies, industry and/or in consulting related to innovation and development, complete your profile.
