Student Job: Improving Robustness of Face Detection

As a working student in our team, you explain the necessity to measure the quality of a dataset, propose data augmentation techniques to improve robustness, and develop a test case generation system guided by the dataset properties. The proposed system will be evaluated on a face detection NN. Various experiments will be conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of a systematic test case generation system for improving such models.
In your new role you will:
- Research **metrics **and **methods **to **evaluate **the **quality **and **completeness of a dataset**:
- Research how **data augmentation **can help **improve **the **robustness of DNN**:
- Help in collecting and implementing a list of effective **data augmentation **and **generation techniques **to **improve dataset coverage**:
- Develop **dataset **characterization KPIs **and **missing data generator **tooling **Python**
You are best equipped for this task if you:
- Are currently studying **(Business-)Informatics **, **Computer Scienc **e, **Electrical Engineering **, or a similar study
- Have **experience **in **deep learning **and **computer vision**:
- Bring **in-depth understanding **of **deep learning principles **and **2D/3D computer vision**:
- Already gained experience with **Python programming languages **and **ambitious **to **write fast **, **efficient **, and **maintainable code**:
- Experience in at least one major machine learning framework**:TensorFlow **, **Keras **, **(Py-)Torch **etc.
- Have a **scientific mindset **and **approach **to **problem-solving **and **excellent communication **and **teamwork skills**
- CV in English
- Certificate of enrollment at university
- Latest grades transcript (not older than 6 months)
- High school report
- **You must be enrolled and not on academic leave**: Proper students (according to German law) are warmly welcome
- **You should live close to the site**: More than 150 km distance is not recommended for a working student job due to the travel.
