**Your assignments**:

- Providing advice, counsel and guidance on compliance with applicable sanctions and other foreign trade laws and regulations.
- Monitoring global sanctions developments and evaluating impacts on Fresenius Medical Care‘s operations.
- Conducting sanctions risk assessments of Fresenius Medical Care’s business models/set-ups.
- Developing and advising on sanctions risk control and mitigation strategies, processes and tools (such as sanctions screening, sanctions compliance guidelines for business in high-risk countries, contractual clauses, trainings, etc.).
- Assessing (potential) sanctions screening hits and providing guidance to business sponsors on the implementation of risk mitigation measures.
- Supporting sanctions-related KYC requests of financial institutions and vendors.
- Providing sanctions compliance trainings for business and other relevant stakeholders.
- Advising and supporting on sanctions license requests.
- Testing and review of effectiveness and adherence to sanctions compliance processes and controls in day-to-day operations.

**Your profile**:

- Fully qualified lawyer, incl. above-average university degree.
- Several years of experience (with relevant experience in the area of economic sanctions) in a major international law firm and/or in-house legal department of an internationally operating organization.
- Strong knowledge of foreign trade law, in particular EU and US sanctions.
- Ideally, experience in a medical technology, pharmaceuticals or the broader healthcare sector.
- An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image.
- Ability to work in a team and to motivate and convince project team members and stakeholders. Good communication skills.
- Ability and motivation to proactively drive processes and projects.
- Humor; highest professionalism for the company combined with self-modesty.
- Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages highly welcome.
- Strong MS Office skills required; experience with other relevant software/tools (e.g. Dow Jones Risk Center, SAP GTS) highly welcome.

**Location**
- Role is preferably based in Bad Homburg, Germany. Otherwise, EU-based or US-based lawyer is preferred due to higher relevance of EU and US sanctions regimes to FME business.
