For our German site in **Wesseling near Cologne** we are looking for a

**Chemical Engineer / Technologist (M/F/d)**

The purpose of the job is to support the site manufacturing (Steam Cracker & Butadiene Extraction units) and utilities department in all process engineering related topics. This covers day to day activities as well as mid to long term projects to improve the site performance. These projects aim at improved competitiveness, CO2 reduction and circularity aspects.

**Responsibilities & Accountabilities**
- Provision of solution for complex problems in the manufacturing units, using advanced calculation methodes and process simulation
- Develop the ideas until the status of a project
- Execution of concept and/or feasibility studies inhouse or in cooperation with external contractors
- Support and advise project teams during Basic and Deatail Engineering
- Optimization of the units with regard to capacity, CO2 emission reduction and circularity
- Contribution to technical networks with local and international participants to help sharing experiences all over the company

**Qualifications**
- Master in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering or Bachelor with relevant working experience
- This position is open to graduates.
- Knowledge in process simulations like e.g. Aspen Plus or Hysys and thermodynamic models
- Very good communication and networking skills
- German and English at C1 Level
