Role description: AIG is looking for an experienced trade finance underwriter (f/m/x) support AIG Trade Finance (TF) offering in EMEA. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing global franchise which is earmarked for growth within AIG's Credit Lines businesses. the role can be based in either Frankfurt/Germany, Paris/France or Madrid/Spain. Key Accountabilities: - Take full ownership of transactional due diligence, structuring and commercial underwriting of trade transactions from origination to execution including analysing structural risks and mitigants, eligibility criteria, sizing credit reserves/deductibles, modelling and premium setting - Overseeing brokers and client enquiries coming in to ensure they are being dealt with in timely manner and consistent message is conveyed to the market on AIG’s risk appetite and underwriting criteria - Perform review of trade-related term sheets, facility and collateral documentation, operational and technology processes and other due diligence reports from a commercial and risk perspective - Manage negotiations of policy, trade and funding documentation to protect AIG’s interests and meet client requirements and liaise with legal on same - Perform credit analysis and analyse trade life cycle/ working capital needs - Complete insurance quotations and transaction summaries/ credit memoranda for internal stakeholders - Liaise closely with risk and credit underwriters and credit committees to obtain appropriate approvals and validate structures - Liaise with relevant AIG business departments (tax, accounting, compliance, onboarding, legal, new product development, vendor/ business partner onboarding, operations) on transactions - Take ownership of the monitoring of live trade transactions including structural changes, endorsements and renewals - Ensure policies and risks remain compliant with AIG underwriting guidelines, processes and procedures - Liaise closely with onboarding teams where corporates or funders are onboarded into AIG structures Technical Skills and Expertise: - Strong transactional experience in open account and documentary trade finance deals including receivables, payables, supply chain finance, letters of credit, trade loans etc. - Several years’ experience in top tier credit insurance teams, bank’s trade transactional team or equivalent in corporate/ another funder environment - Experience in driving trade product sales to corporates and/or financiers - Experience with trade-related technologies including blockchain - Experience with new business and product development - Ability to distil accounts, financial and written information - Ability to manage time pressure, deadlines and competing tasks/ prioritise - Ability to handle a varied workload in a diverse and growing portfolio. - Expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, basic transactional modelling and forecasting - Competent in IT packages and institutional systems Interpersonal skills - Team player with internal and external stakeholders/ clients - Languages helpful, ability to engage with diverse, global teams - Willingness to travel as products expand, particularly in Europe - Ambitious individual who is commercially focussed and able to present to CFOs, treasurers, investors and banks. - Analytical thinker and self-motivated to manage several large new business projects at once, whilst dealing with existing transactions. - Knowledge of Basel, IFRS/ accounting and international regulatory guidelines - Ability to work in a changing environment LI-KH1 A look at our Benefits We're proud to offer a range of employee benefits and resources that help you protect what matters most - your health care, savings, financial protection and wellbeing.
