Software Engineer

Then we are looking for you to join us as a Software Engineer - Java (m/f/d) in our Machine Infrastructure team at Munich. Our cross-functional team develops the cloud infrastructure which manages our device fleet. Development: You develop high-quality software, including features, performance, testing, and documentationTeam Collaboration: You work as part of a team to implement new software projects in microservices to manage production and operation of our device fleetLearning and Development: You learn and evaluate new technologies and skills, sharing this knowledge with other developers (m/f/d) in the companyTechnical Challenges: You actively address technical challenges and improvements, driving solutions that enhance system stability and securityCI / CD: You participate in CI / CD efforts, enhancing automated testing and deployment processes to enable swift and reliable releases Your fitness level Experience: You bring at least 3 years of experience in backend software development, primarily with Java (Spring or Quarkus)Passion: You are a passionate backend developer (m/f/d) who writes clean, efficient, and well-documented code in Java. Experience with Go and Rust is a plus, and you are open to expanding your skill set to other languages as neededOperating Systems Exposure: You have experience in or want to learn about Operating System internals and writing applications designed for small devices (Raspberry Pi, iMX)API Design: You have hands-on experience designing and building APIs for third-party integration, ensuring their security and scalabilityTool Flexibility: You will work with tools and technologies, although we do not require familiarity with all of them: Postgres, NoSQL databases like Datastore, Event-Driven Architecture (e.g., Google PubSub), Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, gRPC, GCP, GitHub Actions, etc.Adaptability: You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, constantly revising assumptions in response to new information Your training goal for your first 6 months Ownership: You take ownership of the cloud services managing production and operation of our fleet of devices, understand the architecture and deliver requirements and features as well as improving testability and functionality On Call: You participate in on call rotation to provide and coming in close contact with the service team to help out with any issues that are reported in the field during a business dayEGYM Ecosystem Familiarization: You familiarize yourself with the EGYM ecosystem and the role of the different teams in the software engineering departmentTeam Integration: You blend with the team and the company culture The equipment we provide Learning Time: Use 10% of your time on learning topics of your choice (conferences, hackathons, internal and external events, videos, books or innovation projects)Modern Tech Stack Engagement: Work with our modern tech-stack such as: Go, gRPC or PubSub.
