Vice President, IT Security Job Description Responsibilities Strategic Leadership : Direct and manage the execution of SUSE’s Cyber Security Strategy, aligning and landing the strategy with the SUSE C-level team and providing regular progress updates. Policy and Compliance Management : Lead the creation and maintenance of the Security Policy Framework, ensuring compliance with corporate security standards and procedures according to international standards such as ISO/2, NIST, PCI-DSS, and GDPR. Security Operations and Risk Management : Oversee and enhance security operations and the overall IT security architecture. This includes coordinating security efforts across technology and organizational boundaries, integrating IT systems development with security policies, and coordinating the global program management to drive security-relevant projects. Challenge Management : Actively manage security challenges by representing security needs at the corporate planning level, anticipating new security threats, and proactively updating our strategy. Accountable for managing all security-related requirements from customers and stakeholders. Team Leadership and Development : Build and lead a highly engaged team of internal and external security experts, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and alignment with business objectives. Stakeholder Engagement : Collaborate closely with both technical teams and business units to ensure continuous improvements in security practices, and serve as the responsible focal point for all IT- and Information-Security investigations. Candidate Profile Experience : Significant management experience in IT and Information Security/Risk Management, with proven ability to design and deliver complex, multi-year security roadmaps. Demonstrated experience in security operations, risk management, and compliance in a global, customer-facing organization. Skills : Strong leadership capabilities in a global matrix organization, advanced knowledge of information security best practices, regulations, and accreditations. Qualifications : Master’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. Industry certifications like CISSP, CCISO, CCSK are highly desirable. Preferable working experience in an open-source ecosystem or company. Personal Traits : High energy, strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, capable of leading cross-functional teams and engaging senior stakeholders. Ability to drive the needed cultural transformation regarding Cyber Security in a fast-paced, rapidly growing tech organization. Leadership: Experience in hiring, developing and managing a Globally distributed team of highly specialized infosec engineers and leaders.  Executive Relationships: Demonstrated experience collaborating with executive leadership teams, board members, and private equity investors to align information security strategies with business objectives and investment goals.
