MAJOR FUNCTION : Retention Specialist will be Responsible for the organization, the implementation, and oversight of instruction and performance gains. Duties include: 1) Providing Face to Face Instruction for Adult Education Students and preparation. 2) Conduct progress monitoring and provide updates regularly. 3) Assist in the evaluation process. 4) Attend team meetings and professional development opportunities. 5) Arranging and conducting all student testing. 6) Conducting outreach and engagement to identified at-risk students to determine and address their barriers and needs. 7) Test data reporting, collection, entry into Workday and SharePoint re: EFLs, LCPs / post-testing 8) Connect at-risk students with campus resources and community partners to eliminate student barriers. 9) Provide Instructor support and training for test score interpretation; track recruitment efforts to determine best practices.MINIMUM TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: Minimum high school diploma with Associate’s degree preferred. Preference will be given to candidates that are bilingual (Spanish). Must have reliable transportation in the tri-county area (Leon, Gadsden, and Wakulla Counties).SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effective, verbally and in writing, to other key stakeholders. Ability to provide excellent customer service. Knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and its implications for the department. Proficient computer skills. Effective time management. Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs, Adobe InDesign and use of the Internet. Proficient in English both written and verbal. Ability to multitask. Ability to work independently using effective public relations skills with little direction. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships. Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action. Ability to meet schedules and time lines. Ability to plan and organize work.
