Junior Application Scientist

Your missionWe are looking for a Junior Application Scientist (m/f/d) with a strong focus on Cell culture, single cell dispensing and technology validation.Join our headquarters in Berlin (Germany) if you are passionate about biotechnology and new instrumentation that bring more automation and efficiency into drug discovery and single cell -omics development workflows to produce therapeutic proteins, gene and cell therapies. The ideal candidate is an analytical team player, who feels comfortable working in a matrix environment. The candidate brings experience not only in mammalian cell culture and single cell cloning but is also tech-savvy and familiar with verification and validation activities in product and feature development. This role will become a power user of our automation technologies. This is a hands-on R&D position with great potential to shape the next generation of tools for life scienceResponsibilitiesWork with our interdisciplinary R&D Team on the next generation products and protocols for cell line development and drug discoveryRun verification and validation plans of new products, features and softwareBecome an expert and power user of our latest technologies and upcoming productsVerify and validate cell line development and assay protocols on automated platformsProactively investigate and resolve problems, identifying root cause and proposing process improvementsCulture basic and advanced cellular models with good laboratory practices.Your profileMaster’s degree in the field of biotechnology, molecular and cell biology or similar, or bachelor/BTA with at least 5 years of laboratory experience.Proven experience in aseptic mammalian cell culture techniques.Oids (spheroids, organoids, tumoroids) experience is a plusTrack-records of handling sophisticated laboratory instruments (Fluorescence microscope, Flow cytometer, Liquid handler, laboratory Robots) and associated software are desirableExperience in testing, verification and validation procedures of new products and features is desirableFirst experience with liquid handling equipment and microscopy techniques is a plusGetting-Things-Done Mindset and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environmentExcellent English communication skills and ability to work in interdisciplinary and multicultural teams. German is a plus.Passionate about technology and laboratory automationWe provide• Top location: Berlin-Adlershof – modern, urban, well-connected• Real onboarding: Comprehensive training and personal support• Development: We foster your know-how through continuous learning and training opportunities• Hybrid work model and international exposure through the BICO groupAbout usSCIENION’s mission is to empower the development of innovative, reliable, and cost-efficient diagnostic and bioanalysis workflows.
