PhD / PostDoc in stem cell biology 23.10., Wissenschaftliches Personal Living systems develop complex structures and functions through principles of self-organization. Stem-cell derived organoids represent a unique platform to dissect these mechanisms, as they reca-pitulate key aspects of embryonic development and tissue morphogenesis in vitro. The group of Prof. Bausch investigates the physical principles underlying these emergent processes and is looking for a PhD student / PostDoc (f/m/d) The Mission Understanding how multicellular systems organize themselves into tissues is a central challenge in modern biology and biophysics. Our group focuses on organoid and gastruloid systems derived from human pluripotent stem cells to study the interplay of cell fate decisions, morphogenetic flows, and physical constraints. The aim of the present project is to uncover how collective dynamics and signal-ing feedbacks drive robust pattern formation during early development. We apply advanced stem cell culture approaches, 3D organoid engineering, and quantitative live-cell imaging to probe and model these processes. By combining stem cell biology with cutting-edge microscopy and physical concepts, we aim to establish a predictive framework for tissue self-organization. For more information go to: Your Qualification: High motivation, curiosity, and commitment to scientific excellence Master's degree (for PhD) or PhD (for PostDoc) in stem cell biology, developmental biology, biophysics, or related fields Strong expertise in pluripotent stem cell culture and differentiation protocols Practical experience with gastruloids, organoids, or related 3D stem cell models Proven skills in advanced imaging and quantitative analysis of dynamic processes Interest in interdisciplinary approaches at the interface of biology and physics Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English Our offer Remuneration and benefits in accordance with the collective agreement for the public service (TV-L E13).
