Then join our journey and be part of the team leading the New Space movement in Europe Rocket Factory Augsburg AG in Augsburg is looking for aIntern (f/m/d) RF System Telecommunication Engineer Your Tasks The RF system (telemetry + flight termination) is broad and multidisciplinary, spanning the launch vehicle, ground systems, down-range ground systems, and satellite networks. You therefore need to be a high-performing generalist, who can work independently and autonomously as part of a small team.Design and troubleshoot RF systems based on off-the-shelf componentsDevelop and maintain Python scripts used for analysis and testPlan and implement qualification and acceptance testing of RF systemsTest RF systems in the field and/or via analysis and simulationIntegrate RF components onto the vehiclePerform RF-related literature reviews and researchBecome familiar with RF telemetry/flight termination system requirements outlined by the RCC, IRIG, and ECSS standardsContribute to preparing and maintaining engineering documentation with a high standard of detail and accuracyCollaborate with other teams across RFA (avionics, software, vehicle, systems, hardware-in-the-loop) Your QualificationsBachelor or Master study in telecommunications/RF/microwave engineering, electrical/electronics engineering, or an equivalent qualificationStrong foundation in digital RF communications theory: modulation, forward error correction, software defined radios, and DSPStrong foundation in electromagnetic principles, antenna theory/design, transmission line theory, link margin analysis, electronics/embedded systems, and RF simulationHands-on experience with programming languages including Python, C, C++, and MATLAB/SimulinkHands-on experience with wireless communications/telemetry systems is desirableKnowledge of common test and troubleshooting equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analysers, and signal generators]Fluent oral and written English skills (all day-to-day activities are performed in English) We offer Atmosphere: Experience life in an international New Space start-up Flexibility: Fit your working schedule to your needs with flexible working hours Health: Sweat, stretch or squat it out with WellPass, a training app which connects you to thousands of gyms and studios Parking: Free parking for your car and your bike RFA Family: Join our self organized after-work activities or company events and become part of the RFA family This is the perfect opportunity to take on an exciting new challenge and be part of the leading private company in the new European space race.
