The Wireless Communications and Networks department of the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute participates in the development of new technologies for the next generation wireless communication systems. The Signal Processing and Sensing (SPS) group participates in national and international research projects, addressing relevant topics in the fields of signal processing for mobile communications and radar systems. We are looking for motivated postdoctoral research candidates to participate in the development of signal processing algorithms for multi-antenna integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in ISAC systems, collaborate with academic and industry partners within joint projects, and to present research outcomes in national and international venues. Be a part of our team and come on a journey of research and innovation What you will do Develop advanced signal processing methods for multi-band and multi-perspective sensing in ISAC systems Analyze system performance using analytical modeling and simulation-based evaluations Contribute to collaborative research projects and document research outcomes in project reports Disseminate research results through high-quality journal and conference publications Supervise student theses and provide technical guidance to student assistants What you bring to the table Doctoral degree in electrical engineering, communications engineering, or a closely related field Strong mathematical background with solid expertise in linear algebra, probability, and statistical signal processing Familiarity with antenna array signal processing techniques Sound understanding of optimization methods and algorithms Proficiency in Python programming Proven publication record in top-tier international journals and conferences Full professional proficiency in English What you can expect Fascinating challenges in a scientific and entrepreneurial setting Attractive salary Modern and excellently equipped workspace in central location Great and cooperative working atmosphere in an international team Opportunities to write a master's or bachelor´s thesis Flexible working hours Opportunities to work from home The position is initially limited to 12 months.
