As we expand our Health Evidence solutions and researcher-focused developer tooling—we seek a DevOps Engineer with strong Infrastructure as Code development skills and cloud infrastructure experience.You will work closely with engineering, researcher, project, and product teams to build, integrate, and evolve our Kubernetes-based Application Tier that enables advancing medical and public-health research and translation applications.We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our Research Enablement team. This is a full time position located in Berlin/Potsdam, with a possibility for hybrid work.Your future roleWork in a collaborative and supportive manner with engineers and researchers to enable smooth deployments, handovers, and operational reliabilityTake ownership of our Kubernetes-based Application Tier and drive its evolution across Azure and hybrid environmentsDesign, build, and maintain scalable cloud-native infrastructure using Terraform, Helm, and GitHub Actions.Improve and automate platform workflows, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and secrets management to empower internal and external developersHelp shape the long-term cloud architecture for research workloads, including scale-out strategies, secure data paths, and HPC integrationsProactively explore and evaluate new technologies that support research computing, high-performance, and reproducible system design.Contribute to architectural discussions, documentation, and cross-team decision making around networking, IAM, security boundaries, and service architectureWhat you need to succeedComfortable working in research-driven & experimental environmentsExperience operating Kubernetes-based systems - ideally in managed environments like AKS, EKS, or GKE.Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform, plus familiarity with Helm, GitHub Actions, and GitHub runnersStrong understanding of cloud networking (VNet/VPC design, private endpoints, DNS, ingress controllers, TLS, routing).Experience with Linux systems, shell scripting, and at least one modern programming language - with a willingness to learn GoFamiliar with Docker, containerized workloads, PostgreSQL, object storage, and monitoring/observability stacks (Prometheus/Grafana or ELK)Team player and motivated to explore and evaluate new technologiesStrong communication skills in English (at least C1)Why you will love working with usNonprofit work with a clear purpose: Make the world a healthier place.
