The Chair of Laser Technology LLT at RWTH Aachen University, together with the cooperating Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT, is Europe's leading centre for basic and contract research in the field of laser technology. In close co-operation with partners from industry and research, the Fraunhofer ILT is working, among other things, on the further development of the additive manufacturing process Laser Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB/M ). With PBF-LB/M, metallic components with almost any complex geometry can be additively manufactured using a layer-by-layer structure.
