Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Global Customs Governance, Risk & Compliance to join our team in Hannover, Germany. In this critical role, you will be responsible to Navigate business through complex trade regulations globally, proactively identifying risks, steer initiation of mitigation measures and follow up on implementation. The Global Lead Risk, Governance and Processes will be the key responsible for customs risk management & governance matters. The jobholder builds and maintains the Global Customs Governance Framework for the Continental group (policies, standards, manuals and processes) for overseeing and optimizing our organization's global customs operations, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, and implementing effective risk management strategies.Develop and implement global customs governance frameworks and policies to ensure compliance with international trade regulationsTake ownership for the global rollout and ongoing enhancement of our customs risk management practice (Customs Compliance Management System – CCMS and Customs ICS/ Internal Control System)Conduct regular risk assessments and audits of customs processes to identify areas for improvement and mitigate potential compliance issuesEnsure adequate and timely mitigation of identified customs compliance deficiencies together with local and regional expertsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline customs procedures and optimize supply chain efficiencyAnalyze complex customs data and prepare comprehensive reports for senior management and stakeholdersStay up-to-date with changes in global trade regulations and customs requirements, adapting strategies accordinglyManage relationships with customs authorities, government agencies, and external partnersDevelop and deliver targeted compliance trainings to enhance customs knowledge across the organizationLead special projects related to customs optimization and process improvement initiativesQualificationsAcademic degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, or related fieldSeveral years of experience in customs operations, compliance, or related fieldIn-depth knowledge of global trade regulations, customs compliance, and international logisticsExperience in international customs projects, preferably in a Project Leading/ Managing roleProven track record in developing and implementing governance frameworks and risk management strategiesStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insightsExcellent project management skills with experience leading cross-functional teamsAdvanced proficiency in customs-related software, databases, and data analysis toolsOutstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management and external partnersFluency in English required; proficiency in German and other languages is a plusWillingness to travel internationally as needed (up to 20%)Applications from severely disabled people are welcome.Additional InformationWhat we value the most, irrespective of your past experiences, is an eagerness to learn and a dedication bringing Continental to speed on the path to rethink and live customs.
